The Main Sheet Swivel-Block
The picture to the right shows the original small block (seen on the left) that came with our Ghost 13. Since it was very cumbersome to cleat the main sheet with that block, we replaced it by a larger block with two sheaves (as shown in action on the right). The second sheave is only used to orient the block properly when the main sheet is under tension. The correct orientation allows to cleat and un-cleat the main sheet with a flick of your wrist.
We tested several swivel blocks and found that some of them cleat so easily (often by themselves!) that it becomes dangerous. Unfortunately, these blocks are very expensive.
